{ traveling hearts | santa cruz 2011 }

Yet another adventure with the Traveling Hearts!

You may remember our previous trips to Palm Springs and Big Bear – this time we met up in breezy Santa Cruz for the usual shooting, laughing, cooking, eating, drinking, interspersed with local activities like beach visits, roller coaster rides, the Mystery Spot, and lots of hanging out on our sunny little deck.

It’s no secret that I love these ladies to pieces. They are smart and sweet and warm and ambitious and hilarious and as evidenced in the photos below – stunningly beautiful both inside and out :)

As always, I’ll start it all off with our stopmotion video – put together brilliantly by Mary!

A behind the scenes shot.

Ending it with a couple group photos, the first taken by Ala (“be bridesmaids!!”) and the second set up by Heather. Already can’t wait until our next trip!!

{ julie + alex | inn of the seventh ray wedding }

Everything about this wedding was so beautiful, effortless, relaxed. I know I’ve probably said this quite a few times before, but my most favorite weddings always seem to be the ones that feel like home. That are brimming with emotion, beautiful in their simplicity, wrapped in a cozy, intimate kind of love. The whimsical Inn of the Seventh Ray, tucked up and away in the woodsy hills of Topanga Canyon, provided the perfect backdrop for this type of occasion, and it was adorned in lovely blooms courtesy of Fleuretica (so happy we could finally work together! :) The day was coordinated by Angelica Weihs who ensured that everything came together beautifully!

Random sidenote, Julie and Alex are quite the creative couple – together they wrote a children’s show that was picked up by Canadian television and is now going into its second season!

{ L | boudoir }

Remember way back when when I did a boudoir marathon up in SF? I’m so excited to finally share a few of my favorites below! Love the fresh & modern feel of the hotel, the ludicrous light we had coming in through the bay windows (also, I LOVE BAY WINDOWS), and of course, the gorgeous girls we had the honor of photographing.

I absolutely adore shooting boudoir sessions – and I still maintain that although I’m sure your man would love to have some beautiful boudoir photos of you, documenting yourself in a lovely & sexy way is ultimately a gift to yourself! :)
