This session with Maritza and Sarah was seriously so much fun! We wandered around beautiful Saddlerock Ranch coming across all the most whimsical finds – colorful doors, olive groves, a tree swing, and of course Stanley the giraffe! As you can see, he was such a good sport and posed so perfectly for photos! I really love these kinds of sessions where we can stroll and explore a bit and I can chat with and get to know the couple – Maritza and Sarah are really the sweetest!

Hope you enjoyed this playful session! It’s been a hectic holiday season over here but I have many more fun weddings and sessions to share soon!

On an especially warm winter afternoon, I met up with Nicole and Jackie in Los Feliz for their engagement session. We met by Figaro Cafe {one of the cutest little bistros around… their fruit tarts are to die for!}, strolled around the neighborhood, and then head up to Griffith Park for a pretty blend of nature and amazing architecture.

Even though up until that point we had only corresponded via email, it seriously felt like an afternoon hanging out with old friends! Nicole and Jackie are laidback, witty, and smart {both are fabulous attorneys!} and it was quite the perfect day, running around the neighborhood and getting to capture their sweet relationship and interactions :)

How completely sweet are these two? I was so happy when Kristen found me from Tori & Kate’s session, and planned a fun lifestyle shoot as a surprise for her girlfriend Michelle. We brainstormed ways to incorporate little aspects of their relationship – like their love for books, and the sweet notes they write to each other on coffee cups – and finished up the session with a few rounds at the ice skating rink!

I felt a bit emotional as I was going through and editing these photos – the love these two have for each other was in each and every image, and I seriously feel so lucky to have been able to capture a snippet of it, and to be able to share them openly here. I felt this extra strong sense of I want people to see these photos. I want them to see this love, the kind of love that comes in all shapes and forms, that is honest and innocent and real and unstoppable. That it is such a beautiful thing :)
