{ Carrie + Matt | Los Angeles Wedding }

There are many many parts of Carrie & Matt’s day that stole my heart.

There was the warm & homey Senshin Temple, where they had an intimate Japanese Buddhist ceremony set against a breathtakingly ornate altar.
There were the elegantly clean & modern chrysanthemum arrangements & bouquets.
Then there were the millions of white pom-poms, lovingly created by hand and strung above the courtyard for the reception. {I could have seriously spent all day just photographing those alone – it was such a simple concept, yet resulted in some of the most amazing reception decor I’ve seen!}
And then – then there was the In N Out truck they brought in, wafting delicious smells across the entire temple & resulting in happy tummies among all the guests. (And photographers.)

But the kicker, the big thing that made their day so special & pulled so earnestly at my heartstrings, was Carrie & Matt themselves and the amazing, genuine, uplifting love they share. I truly believe that somehow, someway, I have completely lucked out and get to work with some of the kindest & sweetest couples that walk this earth, and it brings me so much joy to see these coules on one of their happiest days, having found the one person that truly completes them. Carrie & Matt of course were no exception, and it was truly inspiring watching how happy they are together.

Do enjoy the photos of the poofs, and the burgers, and the flowers, but ultimately I hope these images reflect the love that filled every moment of this special day :)

Loved this moment post-ceremony – Carrie & Matt embraced right after their exit and held each other for a few minutes… even as guests were exiting and milling around the area. It was such a sweet intimate moment…

Love these mixed CDs Carrie & Matt made as fun & personalized favors!

The paper lanterns below all had unique designs created by Carrie’s friend!

{ Queen of Hearts }

Our story is set in Wonderland.
The Queen is in love… her heart is full.
Together with her king-to-be, they are hosting a wedding party reception, her way.
Her elite guest list is limited to a special few.
Held at her private palace, in the gardens, it is nothing out of the ordinary for her majesty.
Just feathers and fluff. Opulent jewel tones. Rich satin and lush velvet.
Gold glitz and glam. Natural greens. Delectable dessert. Roses red.
Her way.

When Mai of Bunch Studio first emailed me regarding collaboration on a shoot, I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of it. She is after all a phenomenal & uber creative florist, a wonderful friend, and one of my September brides-to-be :) When I read on about the premise of the shoot however (part of which included the dreamy italicized narrative above), I found myself grow increasingly giddy with excitement. You see, she contacted me right around when Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland came out and a slew of wonderful Alice-inspired shoots were being concocted & carried out. There were many fabulous tea party themed shoots {including this one I had the pleasure of being a part of :) }, but it had never remotely occurred to me that a shoot could be based on an entirely different aspect of wonderland, namely the Queen of Hearts.

Though I was already so enamored with the idea Mai described, there was no way I could have prepped myself for the amazingness I found when I walked up to the shoot on the day of. She enlisted the help of two great talents, Olivia at Zoie Events & Laurie of I Believe It’s Cake (who is an absolute cake genius – before I met her in person, I had simply known of her as The Girl Who Makes Cakes in the Ridiculously Uncanny Likeness of Gucci Purses. GUCCI PURSES!)

A huge thank you to Mai for inviting me to be a part of this shoot & for sharing this wonderful piece of inspiration with me.

I completely fell in love with this amazing red dress for the “reception”. I LOVE how light & airy fabrics like tulle & chiffon looks in photos!

{ Angela + BJ | Griffith Park Engagement }

Griffith Park is absolutely beautiful this time of year! Add in a super sweet and stylish couple, and the photos essentially take themselves :) I was totally bummed when Angela told me their wedding date and I realized I was booked (they’re having a beautiful vintage wedding in Oklahoma no less!) but was overjoyed when they set up an engagement session!

I adore the lovely hand-painted canvases they brought – so simple, unique and romantic – and enjoyed exploring the park with this super fun & creative couple. So much of the park was covered in beautiful springtime blossoms – just dreamy! Any couple I’ve worked with can attest to the fact that I physically canNOT walk past a collection of colorful flowers without stopping for some photos, and I was overjoyed to find that Angela totally shared my love for colorful blooms :)

Angela & BJ – thank you so much for the opportunity to be a tiny part of this exciting time in your lives! Will be sending happy vibes to you on your wedding day!
