{ jamie + greg // beach wedding }

Let me tell you something about the kinds of couples I work with. They’re the kind that pick lovely venues that so perfectly fit their personalities, like a little historic library by the sea. They’re the kind that when it’s chilly and ridiculously windy out, choose to still walk down to the sand to do more portraits, laughing and smiling every step of the way. They’re the kind that at the end of the night, when all the guests are packed on the dance floor, take a moment to dance quietly in each other arms, looking at one another like it’s the first time they’ve ever met eyes, and are the only ones in the room. They’re like Jamie and Greg, and to work with couples like them is seriously a blessing.

Special thanks to Tealight Weddings for coordinating the day perfectly. Hope you enjoy this peek into this intimate seaside wedding!

I’m not quite sure what made Janet & Jeff’s day so amazing, but it might have had something to do with the perfect spring weather, the heartfelt ceremony, and pretty personalized (and glittery!) details. Or it could have been the flowy bridesmaid dresses, all their overjoyed family & friends, the donut midnight snack, and sparklers. But I think it’s mostly the fact that Janet and Jeff are a couple so sweet and fun you feel like you just want to hang out with them all the time!

Of course it helped that the amazing Uyen from Sassy Girl Weddings was on hand to make sure everything was running smoothly – always love working with her & her awesome team. Loved photographing this pretty day at the Nixon Library!

{ maggie + mike // maui wedding }

You drive up and up into the hills, turning onto roads that narrow as you go. You finally reach a house, perched high in the center of Maui, with views of green fields in every direction, and far off in the distance, a peek of the sea. This is where Maggie and Mike were married, surrounded by only 25 of their closest family and friends, on the deck of this private home where they all stayed. They flew in form all over the world – California, China, Hong Kong, Japan – for one of the sweetest & most intimate weddings I’ve ever witnessed. Because their wedding was so intimate, Maggie and Mike were able to not only exchange vows with each other during the ceremony, but also give personal thanks to each of their guests there. Needless to say it was an emotion-filled and heartwarming moment.

After the ceremony everyone sat down at a long communal table for dinner (they even had kindly set aside a spot for myself and my second shooter Serena :), which was filled with many thoughtful toasts and accompanied by the prettiest sunset. It was beyond an honor to photograph their day!
