{ Liz + Adam | La Venta Inn Wedding }

I left my very first meeting with Liz mentally crossing all my fingers (and toes) that we could work together. She was so super sweet, so excited about her big day, and planning the most beautiful & intimate wedding {see the proof in the pudding below}. At our meeting, she spoke adoringly about Adam & their relationship and when I met him at their engagement session I saw that her words rang true – they are honestly SO perfect for each other and so in love!

They were married last month at the stunning La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes. I love shooting in PV – the views are spectacular and it always feels a bit like home (probably due to all the Saturday mornings we’d drive up there from Torrance for ice skating lessons.. 7 years baby!) The La Venta Inn is probably one of the most beautiful on the hill with amazing architecture, gorgeous grounds, and the loveliest bride’s room – I most definitely have a soft spot for pale pink walls! They matched perfectly with the blush color palette that was expressed in all the elegant details of the wedding, including what were some of prettiest & most stylish bridesmaid dresses I’ve seen {from J.crew!}.

A big thank you to Tim at La Venta, one of the best on-site coordinators we’ve ever worked with! And of course to Liz & Adam… thank you for choosing us to document your beautiful July wedding & for just being you – I’m still in a bit of a tizzy that we get to work with such kind & amazing people!

The photo below was taken in Liz & Adam’s home – I was slightly obsessed with their pastel vintage piano which turned out to be a Valentine’s gift from Adam. Can we say best V-day gift ever?

On the way to meet Adam for their first look…

Partybooths provided lots of photobooth fun and was a hit among the guests!

{ Hana + Toshi | Palos Verdes Wedding }

Hana and Toshi were married last month along the cliffs of Palos Verdes. A light drizzle accompanied their wedding day, but there was a bright and warm energy that filled every corner of the picturesque Neighborhood Church. Though we had luckily taken lots of portraits the day before, we still snuck in a few more on the day of, around the beautiful rooms & corridors inside (raise your hand if you are completely smitten by those pink walls!) For the reception we moved to the Marmalade Cafe, a restaurant with a rustic country-French feel – the decor was amazing & it matched the cozy vibe of their day perfectly!

They held an additional reception in Japan about a month later and I was so happy they could share some of the photos from this LA wedding there :) Enjoy this peek into their beautiful day!

I love this dress Hana changed into after the ceremony! The flowy ethereal design is so lovely and Hana wore it with such elegance…

{ Hana + Toshi | Day Before }

The forecast called for a 40% chance of rain for the upcoming Saturday. The next day it had increased to 60%. The following day, 80. And two days before their wedding, I received a call from Toshi. Because Toshi & Hana are genius, awesome, and held their wedding photos in high esteem, they came up with the idea of perhaps meeting up the day before their wedding, before the storms set in, to do portraits. I wanted to do a bit of a happy dance when I realized I was free, and thus we met up for an impromptu “day-before” session at their venue, the Neighborhood Church in PV.

I LOVE photographing in Palos Verdes, but it was my first time visiting the sweet Neighborhood Church. To sum it up, it would have been utter blasphemy if we had not been able to get photos around its grounds – the church is beautiful with stunning views of the sea, lush greenery, & lovely architecture. I loved hanging out with Toshi & Hana and exploring the grounds without the time constraints of a wedding day. I highly recommend similar day-after sessions to any couples looking for a way to get fun & relaxed photos in your wedding threads; if anyone is interested, I’d love to chat with you more! :)

It did end up raining the following day, but thanks to their quick thinking & the stars aligning, Hana & Toshi have more than a few portraits around their stunning venue. Stay tuned for their beautiful wedding next!

Love this the dreaminess of this one despite (or because of?) it being out of focus…
