Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was a bit of a doozy for me – photographed a beautiful wedding and engagement shoot, but all while battling a nasty cold :T Have been willing it away with hot tea and Airborne (I swear by that stuff!), and editing this breath-of-fresh-air engagement session in the meantime :) We planned to do photos just at a park and the beach, but then those sailboats & calm turquoise waters caught my eye on the way to the sand and I’m so so thankful Lina and Jeff were up for shooting by them since they’re some of my favorite images from the session! :) Also, could you tell I was a bit obsessed with her pop of color dress? It complimented the beachy background perfectly!

Lina and Jeff are just as sweet and fun as these photos suggest and I’m so excited for their wedding {and to get to work with the wonderful Sassy Girl Weddings} come August!

We didn’t plan for the fog.

We figured out sunset times and when to meet for the optimal golden light, and when I woke up that morning the sun was streaming in my window. It was cheerfully sunny on my drive over as I passed through 4 different cities, and literally just as I pulled up to the block before the beach, the sun hid away and we found the entire shoreline was blanketed in a cloudy mist. And now when I see these photos, I couldn’t imagine it any other way. The fog was perfect. Ala {my dear friend and fellow photographer} and her hubby Steve were perfect. The quiet, calm and empty beach was perfect. Her dress? That flower crown? The simplicity of just this one location, of following a couple and documenting their love? All perfect.

At the end of the session, I told them I could photograph this session all day every day, and I meant it.

Carolina & Daniel are one of those couples who booked me over email, so their engagement session was our first time meeting. They seemed super sweet in our email exchanges, but I was happy to find they are even more awesome in person! They hung out and enjoyed each other’s company and just totally trusted me to do what I do, which I appreciate to pieces.

We shot around one my favorite naturey spots and then finished up by the beach just as the sun was starting to set – I’m a sucker for those pastel skies and Carolina’s dreamy dress! So excited for their special day this month!
