{ liv + greg | LA river center wedding }

How dreamy is this wedding? Especially since so much of it was lovingly DIY-ed by Liv and Greg! Please brace yourself for this impressive DIY list – with a little help from family and friends, they assembled the bouquets, arranged the gorgeous centerpieces, baked + iced + decorated the cake (which was carrot, and banana, and DELICIOUS!) – Liv even hand-dyed some of the bridesmaids’ dresses to match the soft pink palette.

All the personal touches lent themselves perfectly to this kind of wedding – the kind filled with a relaxed, cozy kind of love, the kind celebrating two people who are amazing as individuals, but even better together. The day ended with lots of dancing, a crackling fire, and the making of s’mores. Perfection.

This wedding makes my heart happy! I felt it was such a perfect extension of Candice & James’ engagement session – warm, genuine, laidback, and full of down-to-earth love. The LA River & Garden Center, a little surprise oasis hiding in the outskirts of downtown, was an ideal backdrop for their day, providing tons of spots for photos and an intimate gathering for guests. Some things to note – the flowers, which were a beautiful labor of love by Candice’s mom; the cool cameras donned by the {impeccably well-dressed} guests (a Pentax here, an 8mm there!); and the croquembouche! I have always hoped to photograph a wedding that had one of these pretty cakes, and it was lovely, not to mention delicious :)

Another day beautifully coordinated by Sassy Girl Weddings and shot with the help of William Kim!

Heather & Casey’s wedding was truly intimate – less than 15 guests, gathered on a calm day in the middle of the week, tucked away in the lush & quiet gardens of the Los Angeles River Center. A candlelit dinner at Hatfield’s followed, including the loveliest little cake from King’s Hawaiian. (My family has been doing cakes from King’s for birthdays/special occasions/non-special occasions since I was a kid so you can imagine my excitement! :)

I so love sweet and cozy weddings like these, and felt so honored to be a part of their day!
