Confession: I sort of became smitten with MacKenzie and Phil just through our email exchanges, before even meeting them in person. Because a couple who is just so excited about their session, so overjoyed to brainstorm locations or props or outfits, whose happy personalities shine through just from their typed words are just my favorite kind of couple! :) Of course they were even sweeter in person and we had so much fun exploring Griffith Park and the observatory, with the three of us and one giant white balloon packed into their car :)

Also, how amazing is MacKenzie’s hair? Props to Theresa Huang for beautiful hair & make-up as always!

On an especially warm winter afternoon, I met up with Nicole and Jackie in Los Feliz for their engagement session. We met by Figaro Cafe {one of the cutest little bistros around… their fruit tarts are to die for!}, strolled around the neighborhood, and then head up to Griffith Park for a pretty blend of nature and amazing architecture.

Even though up until that point we had only corresponded via email, it seriously felt like an afternoon hanging out with old friends! Nicole and Jackie are laidback, witty, and smart {both are fabulous attorneys!} and it was quite the perfect day, running around the neighborhood and getting to capture their sweet relationship and interactions :)

A relaxed session around Griffith Park. Urban landscapes can really be fun, but there’s something about the quiet of a backdrop like this – just the couple and my camera, taking our time without the worry of crowds or noise or distractions. The recent showers also created the prettiest green landscape.. I seriously could have shot here all day!

I love that Cynthia & Tim let their personalities show and interacted in ways that were both silly & sweet. Also adoring the pops of color from her super cute shirt & the simple bouquet of daisies…
