I could seriously go on and on about this wedding! It was so many wonderful things all rolled into one day – the serenity of a lovely garden tucked in the heart of downtown, getting ready photos at the sleek & modern Standard Hotel, portraits in a historic library, a beautiful Buddhist ceremony filled with tears of joy, opulent autumn florals, good food, lots of drinks, dancing galore, and that DRESS! On top of it all I got to work with the wonderful Everly Events which is always so much fun.

Hope you enjoy this fun urban wedding!

So Shani & Seth. They could be models no? They’re both ridiculously good looking and know just how to work it for the camera. But I’m going to let you in on a secret. They’re just as beautiful on the inside as the out. I KNOW RIGHT?? Seriously these two are some of the warmest, funniest, most laidback people I’ve met and I loved working with them every single step up to their wedding, from the second Shani walked into my studio, through their sweet emails, to their engagement session, and of course this perfect wedding day.

And oh how I love shooting at Cafe Pinot! No matter how many times I’m there I always marvel at how it’s such the perfectly tucked away garden in the midst of skyscraper-laden downtown. Hope you enjoy this peek into their day!

Lot 613. As always, Sassy Girl Weddings pulled everything together perfectly, and transformed the loft space into the prettiest urban oasis – how amazing are those hanging arrangements??

One of my most favorite moments was the father-daughter dance – Lina told me her dad’s favorite type of dance is bon odori, a fun group dance that takes place at the Japanese obon festivals. So that’s what they did for their dance! It was my first time seeing this done at a wedding and I loved how their guests joined in, how it was something that was so special & meaningful for Lina and her father, and how his smile showed just how happy he was :) It was a wonderful reminder that your wedding is about you, you can choose what resonates with you most, make your own traditions, and infuse every corner of it with what you hold most dear to your heart :)
