{ emily + evans | griffith park engagement photos }

Love that little things like a sweet headband & bouquet of sunflowers can add so much to the feel of a shoot. As sometimes happens, I unfortunately wasn’t available on Emily & Evans’ wedding date, but was so happy to still be able to work with them for their engagement shoot! I really adore sessions that have a soft & pretty vibe like this one :) We frolicked around Griffith Park before ending up at the observatory… I never get tired of shooting there!

{ film | LA subway adventure }

once upon an old daydream
that’s what you gave me
out on the corner of Broadway and 48th street
i don’t know my way through a maze of gray skyscrapers
but i’m willing to learn

well i could start discovering your world
and i would make a damn good city girl
things would start to bloom
i’m sure

you are my Manhattan from the sky
you look so neat and tidy when i’m way up high

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Get on the LA subway {yes, LA has a subway!} and take it all over, getting off on entirely random stops and emerging to eat & have coffee, to saunter around, to make photos. We went from Union Station to Wilshire in K-town, to Hollywood Blvd, and then back again. One of the rolls I shot came back with these weirdo blue lines which bummed me out, but I enjoyed this adventure & these shots too much to just shuffle them away without sharing :)

{ karen + lipo | elliston vineyard wedding }

It’s so exciting that a quiet little venue like this, placed just off a windy, tree-lined road, was just 15 minutes away from the bustle of the the surrounding cities. Karen and her bridesmaids got ready in the cottage that greeted you upon entering, their laughs echoing against the hardwood floors and gracefully papered walls. There was a sweet first look, there were pretty paper parasols, touches of autumn, an intimate ceremony, a cozy reception.

And the color! The vibrant yellows & reds – I really love how Karen took a super unique {and seemingly difficult} color theme, and executed it in a way that was romantic, soft, classy. It was such an honor to photograph this beautiful day!

Thank you to Alice Hu for shooting with me that day! :)
