{ out of office | europe! }

Hello everyone! Just wanted to drop a quick note that I will be out of the office until the end of the month due to a trip to Europe! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve had a vacation solely for the sake of a vacation and am super excited to explore Europe with friends! We’ll be passing through Rome, Venice, Paris, Amsterdam & London – if you have any recommendations for some of your favorite places in those cities, I would love to hear! :)

I’ll be doing my best to check email while I’m gone but am not quite sure what the internet situation will be like – all emails will definitely be replied to upon my return on the 29th. Thanks for your understanding!

P.S. Random note, I photographed a lovely wedding at the SmogShoppe earlier today, and found out that the bride & groom is honeymooning in Italy and that we’ll be on the same flight tomorrow! Love little random happenings like that :)

{ hanaya + darren | la venta inn wedding }

I remember meeting Hanaya at Susina Bakery last summer, and immediately feeling like we had known each other for years. There is a chance that the berry white chocolate cake {aka heaven on a plate} was somehow contributing to my happy mood, but I’m pretty sure most of it was just because Hanaya was so sweet, awesome & down-to-earth. When a meeting just feels like a coffee date with a friend, you can bet that I always leave with all my fingers & toes crossed that they will book :)

And… they did! :) I feel so blessed to have been able to capture Hanaya & Darren’s gorgeous wedding at Wayfarers Chapel and the La Venta Inn. It was also my first time working with the girls of live.love.create events, a fantastic team of coordinators. They pulled everything together beautifully & also created some of the sweetest handmade details!

P.S. The balloon! From their engagement session! You can see it make a repeat appearance at the wedding at the end of the post :)

{ nisha + woody | griffith observatory engagement }

I’ve shot at Griffith Park/the observatory a bunch of times, but I feel like every shoot comes out so differently from the last. It’s such a versatile location… influenced by the light, the weather, the time of day, what little nook we happened to stumble across that time, and of course, the couple. I love that the same spot can photograph differently, just depending on who is in the frame :)

The first thing I noticed (and loved!) about Nisha & Woody is how relaxed and chill they are – they go with the flow and made walking around the observatory with them & making pictures so much fun and a total breeze. I’m overjoyed that Shirley of Fresh Events matched us up and am so excited to work with them again soon for the wedding!
